Apostille on a
police clearance certificate

Official apostille on police clearance certificates issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for visas, residence permits and citizenship. We take on the queues and the paperwork.

In short: an apostille on a police clearance certificate is the stamp that makes a document issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs valid abroad without consular legalization. It is affixed to the paper original bearing a wet seal, at the Zonal Information Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; the official processing time is one to five working days. Needed for visas, residence permits and citizenship. We take on the queues and the paperwork, prepare a notarized translation if required, and deliver across Russia.

A certificate of no criminal record is a mandatory document when moving to another country. For it to have legal force abroad, an “Apostille” stamp must be affixed at the Zonal Information Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The all-in service includes:

Checking the certificate for errors
Submission to the Ministry of Internal Affairs without queuing
Payment of the state duty
Affixing the Apostille stamp
Notarized translation (optional)
Insurance of the document in transit

Points to watch:

An apostille on a police clearance certificate is affixed only to originals of the prescribed form. Electronic certificates issued through Gosuslugi with a digital signature are not accepted by every country — we recommend obtaining the apostille on the paper original bearing a wet seal.

Popular questions

Can an apostille be affixed to an electronic certificate?
In some cases a notarized copy of the electronic certificate can be made and apostilled through the Ministry of Justice. However, many consulates (those of Spain and Italy, for example) require the apostille on the blue paper original issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
How long does an apostilled certificate remain valid?
The apostille stamp itself has no expiry date, but the receiving party usually limits the validity of a police clearance certificate (often 3 or 6 months from the date of issue).
Do you need a power of attorney?
No power of attorney is required from you to obtain an apostille on a police clearance certificate in Moscow. We handle everything ourselves.
